Disabling the DRL (Daytime Running Lights)

Note: This procedure only works on some 1998, 1999 and all 2000 & newer vehicles.

Locate the relay that controls the DRL's. Should be under the dash behind the brake pedal taped to a wire harness. You have to remove the lower piece of trim from the dash, pull the carpet back, pull up the rubber piece of insulation, and there it is taped to the wiring harness.

To disable the DRL's you need to cut one yellow wire (there are 2 make sure you get the right one or your headlights will not work!).

You need to cut the one connected to terminal 5 (See Diagram) circuit #525 on the DRL wiring diagram bekow.

You could also put a switch in the wire so you can control the DRLs manually.
